Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of some frequently asked questions and their anwsers:

Where can I find/buy Yoshi merchandise?

Unfortunately, Yoshi merchandise is hard to find these days. Nintendo Power, an official Nintendo magazine occasionally contains product offerings including official Yoshi merchandise. You may also be able to find Yoshi merchandise in electronics/games stores like Electronics Boutique. However, your best bet is probably ebay. Yoshiru Ferrari, the webmaster of yoshiart.com, made a detailed search for yoshi on ebay that may help you narrow down your search. Good luck!

If you know of other good places to get Yoshi merchandise, please let us know.

How can I make my own web site?

Web pages are written in a simple language called HTML (Hyper-text Markup Language). You can use almost any text editor (e.g., Notepad, BB Edit, vi) to write HTML files. There are plenty of easy tutorials on web sites like Web Design Guide and Webmonkey, but if you don't want to learn, you can still make a web site using a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) program like Frontpage, Frontpage Express (this one's free), or Dreamweaver.

If you want to make your own images or manipulate other people's for your web pages, you need a graphics editor that reads and saves GIF and/or JPEG files. (We use Jasc Paint Shop Pro.)

Once you're done making the actual pages of your site, you should look for a place to put them so they can be reached on the internet. You need to find a web host like Tripod or Geocities that will give you web space and an address. Many web hosts will give you space for your site for free and paying for it by adding banner or pop-up advertisements to your site.

Once you have all your files and web space, you can upload your files to your web host's server (that is, you can send your file to your web host's computer) and you'll be able to access them from the internet.

Good luck!

Can I use your images on my web site?

If you're asking about site art, here is a comment from their creator, SigZ:

Hi, almost all of my yoshi pictures are sketches based upon official Nintendo yoshi pictures. Please don't steal them! They were painstakingly sketched, scanned, (in the case of newer pics) redrawn in vector, and colored specifically for Yoshi's Melon Patch. The exception to this is the golden yoshi award, which I made for yoshi site webmasters.

If you want to use fan art that is published on this site, please get permission from its creators. Fan artists will now be able to specify whether they'll allow other sites to use their art. If you want to know about an older artwork, we may be able to make an inquiry about it if we still have the artist's email address.

Can I save your images to my hard drive for my collection?

SigZ: Aw, you mean it? Go right ahead!

Yoshi and his video game pals are copyright © Nintendo, of course.
Also please do not use any Yoshi fan art without permission of their respective artists.
