Yoshi's Story

games / Yoshi's Story - by Droshi

Intro-Here is a basic overview of the game. Baby Bowser has tolen the Yoshis' Super Happy Tree, and naturally, they are now sad. Your goal is to proceed through 6 worlds of beautifully animated levels and smooth animation.

Graphics-5 out of 5 stars-This game has absolutely gorgeous graphics complete with lushly animated backgrounds and enemies, with impeccable transparent effects. A full showcase of N64's power.

Sound-4.5 out of 5 stars- The sound here is very nice, the music made by Koji Kondo the Nintendo Music master himself. The sound effects like rippling water and the footsteps of he Yoshies are nice effects as well. They have made the Yoshies seem unusually cute, but other than that the sound is great. It really sets the mood.

Story-4 out of 5 stars- Well, the story is the basic hop and bop, but with added abilities that progress with the story. Though there really is no goal except to eat happy fruits, it sure is fun!!

Fun Factor-5 of 5 stars-Though this game is quite short (half as long as SMW2:YI), you'll enjoy every moment of it, and you can play through it four times with different levels, because you choose one of four levels in a world each time. Great replay value, too, because you get to have the black and white Yoshies, who eat every fruit.

Overall- with all this in hand, Yoshi's Story may very well be the best modern 2D game on a home console. For Yoshi fans, it's a must have.
