In the opening scene of Yoshi's Island, a stork is flying in a cloudy twilight sky on its way to deliver baby Mario and Luigi to their parents. Suddenly, the Magikoopa comes to snatch them. He successfully kidnaps Luigi, but he accidentally drops Mario in the cloudy confusion. Mario lands on Yoshi's Island, conveniently onto a green Yoshi's back. The confused dinosaur finds a map, which he surmises is where Mario has to go. He goes to his yoshi friends for help. They decide that they will form a relay team to deliver Mario to his destination. The yoshis must gather coins and flowers and fight the Magikoopa's goons in various worlds to reach the next dino in the relay. Their abilities include jumping, "flutter flying" (which allows them to stay in the air longer), swallowing enemies to make eggs, and shooting eggs in two different ways (by aiming it or bouncing it around). Yoshi's Island features silly adventure landscapes and animation, nice scenery, and a cute storyline. Unfortunately, it is no longer available (except maybe in auctions).
